About us
Gui-Patrick is an organisation that is committed to ending functional illiteracy and innumeracy.
Based in London, Gui-Patrick is dedicated to raising public awareness of the growing problem of functional illiteracy. As functional illiteracy can affect an adult’s life in various ways, it is important that it is addressed and, therefore, overcome so that there are no hurdles standing in the way to lead a happy and successful life.
Gui-Patrick provides underprivileged people with the tools to better themselves and make a positive change in their lives, thereby becoming more confident and productive members of society.
Many new UK residents from developing countries haven’t acquired the necessary literacy skills to properly integrate themselves into the community and seek employment –Gui-Patrick aims to address functional illiteracy in a positive way in order to improve Mathematics and English skills whilst bettering career potentials simultaneously.
1 in 5 adults are functionally illiterate in the UK, and with our school leavers ranking ever lower on world literacy indexes, functional illiteracy is a growing problem.
We believe that through early intervention, increased public awareness, and with proper support and education we can eliminate functional illiteracy.
We believe it is important to encourage people to get involved. We will be doing this by launching numerous campaigns of activities throughout the year to get people involved.
